Hubby says he thinks it definitely is a drake and not a duck due to the beak colour, flanks and tail curls. He is almost sure it is a mallard inter-bred with other 'tame' ducks e.g. shelduck, Aylesbury etc. Hope that helps.
Lovely capture, great colour on the water and I think the ripples add to the texture.
@mandygravil Thanks Mandy and thanks to Hubby for the ID! It definitely has the look of a Mallard, but those curly feathers at the end and the lack of the distinctive green spots really threw me off.
