It may not be as controversial as DuChamp's piece but I rather doubt the person who installed these pipes ever thought of them as an artistic subject matter! They caught my eye as I was heading into work the other day.
I think this is the perfect response! The grittiness that you have processed it with definitely makes it something that Duchamp should be impressed with FAV
I think almost anything takes on more importance and more artistic value if you just look at it closely. Taking mundane objects and just putting a frame around them makes them seem suddenly more worthy of interest. I find I'm wondering about the two lighter spots on the ground and trying to figure out what they are and how they got there.
Thank you Diana, Katrina, Carole, Beryl, Katy, Pam, Laura, Joanne, Harry, Debbie, Hannah, Babs, Kathy, and Ferry!
@grammyn No real processing- it's just the pavement. I left the exposure lower to give it a dark feeling.
@gardencat Yes, I totally agree with you on that! The two lighter spots are actually caps on the ground for underground pipes (plumbing?? gas line? electrical?) or something else like that.
