First day of "Found Objects"- one approach to this style is to put items together in the shot that don't seem to make sense beside each other. One example I saw had a lobster sitting on top of an old rotary dial phone. I have neither of those on hand right now, so I went looking through my "odd things to photograph" box and came up with this broken LED light bulb that Jeff gave me because he "knew I'd enjoy photographing it" and a lace doily that came from my grandmother's house. They're not as odd as a lobster and an old phone, but they'll have to do!
Definitely an odd combination. One definition I saw said, “things that you wouldn’t normally consider photographing” - they obviously had never heard of 365!
I really like the choice of subject in the composition. One thing I need to remember is to not always put the entire subject in the shot. the way you used only part of the doily in this image makes it a much better photo
I saw that lobster on a phone when i was trying to figure out this theme. It confused me even more. This could be an interesting week for us all. I wonder if your grandmother crocheted that. I have some I got out of my mother's stuff very similar.
@randystreat That's Salvador Dali- the pinnacle of surrealism! Thanks Kathy! No, I don't think my grandmother made this one- I don't think she crocheted or knitted, but I could be wrong. It's obviously hand-crafted though.
