I was really stuck for a shot for today's word. I don't own a bird and the birds at the birdfeeder were totally uncooperative. They usually fly away the instant they see me move, but today, they just clung to the wires and stared. Go figure. I would love to say I got this shot by running down to the local airport and catching a propeller in actiion, but I'd be stretching the truth for sure! No, in order to suggest the idea of flight, I walked into my living room and took a shot of my ceiling fan in motion. Thanks to the wonders of post-processing, it turned out like this. Call me crazy, but I like it, and I think it has the feeling of flight. If you could board a plane and go on an all-expense paid trip right now, where would you go?
Great idea and nicely done! Cool processing too :) I could have believed it was a propeller... I'd get on a plane back to the UK to spend winter with my friends and family :)
@woot Thanks Davide- well, if you have a ceiling fan they do come in handy! I need to catch up on your shots- will do that soon! @alia_801 Thanks Alia! It just happened to work and I stumbled on it. I'm glad because I didn't want to bail out and use a wildcard!
This is beautiful, Ann. It absolutely does justice to the word "flight!" Great processing and genius idea. I'd probably stay right where I am right now and skip that all-paid flight till January and then maybe Tuscany. :)
@karenann Thank you Karenann! Italy sounds lovely! @dmariewms Thank you Marie- I've only driven through Nebraska, but it was in the summer and all the sunflowers were blooming- gorgeous!!
@mrssmith Thank you Carla- I was desperate for a picture and the only thing that reminded me of wings was the ceiling fan. The picture was so-so, not all that interesting. But once again- just fooling around with the processing saved the day. So it wasn't really an idea- just a successful experiment.
@prttblues Thanks Bev- this one really is a fluke because if I planned this- it never would have happened! @digitalrn Thanks Rick- I agree since joining 365 and meeting so many fantastic photographers from Australia- I think I'd like to visit there now as well.
