A calendar from friends featuring photos from their dream trip to South Africa this year, a note with a bookmark from friends who visited Israel and a lovely original watercolor greeting from Canada all arrived in the mail today. Some days it's just so much fun going to the mailbox!
Lucky you for receiving such wonderful mail! It would not happen in this country. I like the way you presented it and of course the cover of the calendar :-)
All we get is junk mail, everything else is online. I must say though, in this age of email I do sometimes miss letters. When a was a boy I collected stamps and was always thrilled when a letter came with an exotic stamp. Philately must be a dying hobby.
How lovely. It’s rare these days to receive anything by “snail mail” other birthday & Christmas cards & the latter is getting fewer. I’m not sure I like everything digital.
@grammyn I am blessed to have many friends stateside too- including a certain lady from Alabama!
@speedwell I most definitely was- and I even received an email from the Netherlands which I forgot to mention.
@carole_sandford I know- I see the positive and negative of the digital but admit getting cards and thoughtful notes really is far more uplifting when it's something you can hold in your hand.
@ludwigsdiana I immediately thought of you when Bob and Sarina said they were going to South Africa! From what I can tell from their pictures they were not too far from you when they were in Cape Town.
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your thoughts and favs- all are very much appreciated!
@cdcook48 I collected stamps too- my father worked for a rubber importing and exporting firm so I got all kinds of stamps from around the world from him. I just passed them on to my grandsons last year. It is not as popular as it once was but there are still a decent amount of collectors from what saw on line when I was looking for a book for them so they'd know how to put the stamps in the book and so on.
The only good mail i get these days comes for Amazon the rest is pretty much rubbish or worse bills. How do you want to communicate about your spring trip. Mail, text or phone.
@joansmor Most of it's junk mail here too- but every once in a while, I get some really nice surprises like these!
Let's start out with email. I don't have my calendar in front of me, but I do know that we will be traveling to TX for my mother in law's 90th birthday in May. I will get the dates to you.

@lmsa Thank you Louise- they did and now they want to go back!
