It was wonderful to see a pair of Great Tits come so close to the house today. Normally they stay at the far end of the garden. Today they were searching for nesting material and came up trumps as they both found some of Finlay's fur which was I had put in a bush after brushing him. Lovely to think of the babies all warm and cosy with Finlay's fur.
Many thanks for your lovely comments on my robin shot which I was pleased to see on the PP this morning.
How lovely Pam - Fav The blue tits have been in our camera nest box again this morning and I don't think they can decide whether to carry on building their nest or what because I do have a short video of the female in the nest busy building but I haven't seen them in there for a few days. Fingers crossed
Wow, such a lot of fur in one mouthful here. I hope he can find his way back to the nest. So glad to hear that Finlay has donated some of his fur for a worthy cause.
Oh I love these moments! I have been sitting outside watching birds gather their supplies! Last year i had a lovely wool bird nest ball hanging from a tree. Now I have to go brush Foxy!!
What a gorgeous photo, Pam, and what a delightful moment for you to see that wee bird making such good use of Finlay's fur! It's clearly a heart-warming moment to see your baby helping baby birds!
