Wow I am so excited to get this shot. The cloud had come over and I thought there was no chance of seeing the eclipse. Suddenly at 7.40pm the cloud lifted slightly and this is what I saw. As there was still cloud cover I could actually take this shot. I am amazed at the clarity - taken with the Lumix at 600mm hand held. A bit noisy but better than I thought I could get. Only a small slither missing from the sun - I think they said it would be 10%.

Again, this is just gorgeous! I'm so pleased for you! I read that the air would cool and clouds might dissipate, so that looks like what happened. It was the same here, too!
Very impressive!! We watched from the rooftop of the condo, using the solar eclipse glasses, but no photographs. It was so cloudy but we were able, through the glasses, the moon as it got to about 90% coverage. Even at that, while darker, it wasn't any darker (and somewhat less even) than in a bad storm.
