Camelia by pamknowler

Camelia

We popped into the local garden centre to buy something colourful for our garden wall for the winter. We bought a Camelia bush to go in a pot on the wall. We cannot grow Camelias in our soil but hopefully it will be ok in the lovely blue pot I have put it in.

The bush is covered in tiny red buds which I am hoping will burst into flower!! Here is one but taken into Topaz Impressions and given a saturated watercolour filter.
What an interesting version, so colourful

Camellias are very expensive so you don’t want it dying on you….hope this one survives. Camellias do well in our new garden in fact we have two very large bushes, just about the only things that flower in the whole large garden.

Beautiful! So it’s warm enough there in the winter to grow flowers!

@louannwarren Camellias are one of the few shrubs which flower in winter here. So beautiful as they can look like roses. I am hoping the buds on the bush I have bought will open and flower. It is in a pot and not the ground as the soil in my garden does not like camellias.
