How do you pronounce these?

how do you pronounce them, booeys or boys? Boys for me.

I agree, definitely boys! - and a lifebuoy (boy). We sometimes have quite a problem in York with people having 'fun' throwing lifebuoys in the river, although it seems less of a problem recently since a voluntary York Rescue Boat started work on the river following a number of drownings in the river.
