My tribute to the 70th anniversary of V. J. Day
25 ft sculptures by Seward Johnson resembling a photograph "The Kiss" by Alfred Eisenstaedt, V–J day in Times Square in New York City, on August 14, 1945.
The Sculpture stands in Tuna Harbor Park, San Diego CA with the USS Midway in the background, look at the little girl playing on the plinth to get an idea of its size, the shot was taken whilst on a holiday trip to the west coast.
That is so amazing! First, I love the capture and having the little girl there does give you the perspective of the size of the statue and ship. Second, this same statue is on the harbor in Sarasota, FL. I'll have to travel up there one day and get it in my project. Well captured, Peter.
@susanalena Thanks Susan for your lovely comments, the sculpture was erected in San Diego in 2007 I understand there are a number of them dotted about in America:)
@simta Спасибо вам большое за ваши прекрасные комментарии Татьяна, девочка не было ничего, чтобы сделать со мной, хотя я должен был взять фотографию, как она играла на постаменте :)
@onewing Thanks Babs I do have a copy of the photograph in a book the best images from Life Magazine" when I saw the sculpture I just had to take a shot the little girl was a bonus:)
