The Midland Hotel, Bradford was built between1885 and 1890 by the Midland Railway Company.
The Hotel was a showpiece for the railway company's northern operations, It still retains some of its fine Victorian features including the Victorian Passageway with its floor to ceiling Burmantoft tiles.with quality ornate plasterwork in the Princes and French Ballrooms.
@bkbinthecity Thanks for taking the time to comment, like most cities Bradford has its eclectic mix of old and new buildings, I love the architectural features of the old ones but do take images of all types:)
@pcoulson Thanks for the link, very impressive. A bit mean of them not to let you take photos inside. I think I would have been tempted to sneak a few.
Fabulously clear shot, nice pov. I was going to ask about inside but my question has been answered above - will look when I am home again this coming week.
@quietpurplehaze Thank you for your lovely comments Hazel, took my camera with me into Bradford to see what I could find, its always so difficult to get a people free shot of buildings:)
What a great structure! Elaborate arches, embedded tower, gable peaks, mansard roof - an architect's dream! Great detail. Have I told you I love that camera? ;-)
@stray_shooter Thank you Ron as I have said before I love capturing interesting architecture, trouble with this one it was on a busy road and there were people every where, waited ages for the right moment and still managed to get a red car in the shot:)
