Wow, that is some macro image... Fabulous detail Peter and although the actual DoF will be a thin slice, it appears to be much deeper in this awesome image.. can tell how shallow it is by looking at the wall/planter.. well done Peter, i'm truly impressed..

@jorlam Thank you for your always interesting observations Jorlam, this was a quick capture I was after a bubble bee in the flowers and noticed this little lady, took a quick shot then reset the camera to f22 and increased the ISO just got her in focus and she flew away never even got another shot, lol:)

Excellent macro especially for a one off Peter. I always have to take a few hundred to get one that is in focus :-)

Sue
And she is looking straight at you. Assuming it is a she, although presumably male ladybirds look the same?

@jorlam It didn't look that good in live view so wanted to improve the detail and the depth of field, looked much better on my monitor than I expected Jorlam:)

@suesouthwood Thank you for your comments Sue, the camera lens was at the same level as the ladybird and she or he was walking straight towards it:)

Amazing macro, the detail is fabulous. Ladybirds always remind me of Zoe. She loved ladybirds and had lots of ornaments of them in her home. She even had a pair of ladybird slippers and pyjamas.

Holy cow, now that's a close-up! I think your depth of field is about a quarter inch! So good to get the face and eyes in focus. Superb macro, Peter.
