Stranger No30

My Friday people this week is Paul he was fitting me with new reading glasses at the local opticians, Paul was not sure about posing for the shot, we got talking and he said he loved the 1940's period and was in a 40s dancing group that danced at all the 1940's events in clothes of the period, they meet up once a week to practice, he admitted some members were 30 to 40 years older than him and were far better dancers and never seemed to get out of breath:)
Got a great portrait given he wasn't sure about posing!

@cottiac Thank you for your lovely comments Cottia, it was a bit of a struggle to get a descent shot as we were in a small room with not that much light, had to set a high ISO 1,000 at f2.8 with a shutter speed of 1/40 second, just about got away with it:)

A very nice portrait - you did better than me, Peter as I got refused at my optician's!

@quietpurplehaze Thank you for your comments Hazel, it was not the best of conditions for taking the shot, there is a very pretty young lady optician working there I was going to ask her after taking this one of Paul but she was busy with a customer, dash it all may be next time, lol:)

Super portrait. I am sure he would be interested in a copy of this photo. Maybe you could go back and ask the other members of staff if you could take their photos and they could put them up on the wall in the opticians with the title, "Our staff"

You're getting quite good at this Peter. You caught a great expression on him. I'm sure he'll be happy to see the result. Fun story behind the subject too.

The catchlights add life to the image - his pose is lovely, so natural looking - as is his smile which is echoed in his eyes. i really like the impact/immediacy and intimacy of this tight shot. Lovely skin tones.
thanks for the narrative..

@jorlam Thank you so much for your lovely comments, we where in a small room hence the intimacy of the shot and the resulting image has not been cropped at all:)

Fantastic portrait Peter and nice to hear about the dance group. I like the idea of capturing a photo and story from a stranger each week. Maybe I will try it.
