St Andrew’s Church in the village of Oakenshaw-cum-Woodlands near Bradford, the present church was opened in 1889, St Andrew’s is now part of the Parish of South Bradford and is still in use, strangely enough it has no graveyard or at least not one I could see anywhere near.
I can see similarities to the church you posted the other day, in the roofs mainly. Perhaps it has a separate graveyard as it seems quite a large church not to have one.
@quietpurplehaze Thank you Hazel they are possibly only 15 miles apart and do seem similar in design, its only a small village I had a good look around for a graveyard and yes you would expect one this large would have one:)
@onewing Thank you for your comments Babs, I've just checked the internet and got no definitive answer either other than to say it has no graveyard how strange:)
Wow, that's a neat trick - an unobstructed view AND the sun's out too. the building, of course, is gorgeous but those built around the same time seem to have been designed by the same folk or by those who studied under particular tutelage.. i'm saying nothing against them - just an observation.. Each one has it's own characteristics which imparts uniqueness.. and, despite similarities, you manage to impart a sense of that uniqueness in your images..
blue sky too...
@jorlam Thank you for your wonderful comments Jorlam know what you are saying about how similar some churches are will be looking for something different next time, had to wait a little for a traffic free shot and was lucky to get the blue sky (polarising filter fitted) in no time at all it was raining:)
@terryliv Thank you for both your lovely comment and Fav, Terry, as I said to Jorlam the blue sky was courtesy of a polarising filter fitted, it was not long before it started to rain and the sky was grey:)
