Turf houses in Keldur, Iceland

While travelling out to the east coast I just had to detour to see these unique turf houses, they are so typical Icelandic and found all over the island. Many centuries before ‘going green’ became fashionable, Icelanders were constructing eco-friendly and energy efficient dwellings all over their island.
