If you're not familiar with these, they are physalis. Here's this from Wikipedia:
"Many Physalis species are called ground cherries.[5] One name for Physalis peruviana is Inca berry; another is Cape gooseberry, not to be confused with the true gooseberries, which are of the genus Ribes in the family Grossulariaceae. Other names used to refer to the fruit are poha berries, and simply golden berries.[6]"
@nicolecampbell Nicole, I expect you can do both. They are very sweet and quite sharp, a bit like a firm white grape or a tame gooseberry. They'd be good in fresh fruit salad, as a simple choice.
I love to eat these. They are nice in deserts with ice too :-)
Nice lighting but I think when you would crop the pic a bit (especially from the bottom) the impact of this nice still life could be even greater :-)
