Some of you know I work in a Hospital, and this is very much on our minds at the moment. (I should say, the empty corridor is because I chose my moment, not for any other reason).
Whilst most people who contract the new variant coronavirus will be OK, and some may not even realise they have had it, we all have a community responsibility to try to limit the spread to protect the vulnerable. The most effective ways we can do that are by regular hand cleaning, taking care not to touch any part of our face with our hands unless we know our hands are clean, when coughing and sneezing this must be into a tissue which is then binned (or, failing that, into the crook of our elbow) and self-isolating according to the Public Health England guidance, which can be found here:
I fully support what you say Peter. Katharine and I are in the more vulnerable age group (over 60), she has a compromised immune system and I have asthma, so we both feel threatened, and have to depend on others as well as ourselves taking the right precautions to keep both themselves and us safe. A nice shot to remind us of what we all need to do.
If I may be bold enough to add to you comments and hopefully add to the reasons behind many of the actions taken by gov'ts (and add some math to the equation), I would like to post a link to a recent video done by "3Blue1Brown" on YouTube" (please read some of the comments also posted there). https://youtu.be/Kas0tIxDvrg
Totally agree. I have an older relative with leukaemia and older friends, all of whom are very nervous of this virus and I am nervous of catching it and passing it on to them. I am washing constantly when out and have gel in my pocket for when needed. Hoping it will all peak and be gone again soon, I feel under siege!
Scary times. We can't get hand sanitizer in the shops here at the moment along with toilet rolls too. People are panic buying and even rice and pasta are running out too. The world is going mad
It's never enough shouting out this warning. In my small island we have had the first recorded Coronavirus infected person last Saturday. The number has risen to six. All were returning from a holiday in Italy. Scanners at airports are that effective to catch the virus.
