Yesterday Tom and I spent a gorgeous afternoon at Shelton Vineyards. We did a tour and wine tasting, had lunch at the fabulous restaurant overlooking the vineyards, and had an all round lovely day. The vines had been recently pruned for spring growth ~ so it was a stark beauty rather than lushly beautiful. We're planning a return trip in September at harvest time.
Fantastic composition! You and Tom will have to come and experience our beautiful wine routes around Cape Town one day (Stellenbosch, Franschoek, Paarl, Constantia).

Actually, the state of NC ranks 7th for wine production in the US. There are about 100 wineries in the state. This vineyard is the second largest. It's about 90 miles north of CLT and was well worth the relatively short drive. Still can't believe our timing with National Drink Wine Day! :)
