Carole and I have spent the afternoon at the 1940s festival in Woodhall Spa. The village is where the Officer's Mess was located for the famous 617 Squadron, the 'Dambusters' and it's now a very fine hotel called the Petwood.
Two days every year in July, the residents roll back the years to the 40s. I saw this guy listening to a speech by a Churchill look-a-like, shot him in B&W and, well, I kind of think it works.
Oh i love this...as me and sister s do our 40's things...fav for me..love how he's sitting there...yep.back then I'd definitely have paid attention to him..ha ha...
So much to look at & which photo to choose! Love the title, something that was often said of GIs, who were able to provide the luxuries to turn a woman's head e.g. Nylons, chocolate, perfume etc oh & not forgetting plenty of charm! A great shot !
Really great street life capture. I think shots like this where people are not looking straight into the camera even looking away as in this one are really effective. Great in B&W too.
