The Sparrowhawk was around this morning, and the paserine birds knew it; they're a skittish lot at the best of times, but with her around they're even more so. They stopped on the feeders for as little time as possible and looked to be keeping more than one eye out for her.
I think all three of these are Chaffinches, but couldn't swear to it; the one on the right could be a greenfinch.
A very relaxing day today, sat in the conservatory reading and watching the birds in the garden. Retirement looks even more inviting ..........
Nice shot. The birds do look a little nervous. Looks like business was good on your bird feeder today. Had one very much like it once. In the beginning the food lasted most of a week. But the end, it didn't even last the day. I wasn't into bird pictures then, though. Those were still film days.
