Fledgling Chaffinch

This ittle chap has obviously not had the message from Mum & Dad that humans are not good; he was sat on the bird bath and let me get very very close. He looks very young and appears to be struggling to get height when flying. We get few cats in the garden, but we do get them now and again; hopefully the chaffinch will gain strength before they visit again.

Thanks for dropping by
What a lovely shot - am sure he'll get the message soon

Aw he is so cute. We have a family of butcher birds that frequent our garden and I feed them with raw mince. The baby now thinks I am his Mum and flaps his wings at me and makes a sound like a car alarm as he waits for me to feed him.

@fbailey @carole_sandford @susiemc @koalagardens @elisasaeter @lyndamcg @lesip @onewing @shutterbug49 @gilbertwood Sadly I have to report that our resident Sparrowhawk dropped in on Tuesday afternoon and, well, Mother Nature can be cruel.
