Flying Buttresses by phil_sandford

Flying Buttresses

I love ‘flying buttresses’ on old churches and, more prevalent, Cathedrals. I know they are functional, that without them the building would collapse, but the masters back in the 1100s and beyond, designed them to look just fantastic whilst they did their job of stopping the building from falling down.

Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.
