It took over 5 hours for me to drive the 208 miles totalled in this photograph of my dashboard. The weather was biblical, wind and rain, standing water, fallen foliage etc. My mood was not improved when, just 35 odd miles from home somebody, Highways England, Lincolnshire County Council (whomever they are they are not fit for purpose), thought it acceptable to shut the entire length of Dual Carriageway from Newark into Lincoln, all 15 miles of it, the primary road into the City. SatNav diverted me down country lanes, where I met fallen trees and floods necessitating multiple point turns on roads so narrow that if you went too far you would fall 10m into a flooded ditch/dyke. My mood darkened with every mile, so you can imagine my delight when, in the middle of goodness knows where, my car decided to tell me “hey Phil, you really need to get fuel.”
I know I shouldn't laugh, as I certainly wouldn't be if it were happening to me, but your narrative made me do it. Very cool looking display you've got in that car
Been there, done that!
Your humorous narrative gave me a chuckle.
