Releasing Kylie

This young red-bellied black snake has been living with us since just after birth to give her a bit of a head start in life. Today she's off on her own, here sunning herself briefly before her release.
thanks for comments
that is so awesome - how did she end up in your care

Blimey!!!! I don't know much about snakes. My last encounter I oh so nearly ran over a Brown snake on my mountain bike!! I hope this one's less venomous!? Lovely capture though.

Safe travels you little beauty. We have red-bellied black snakes on our Stanthorpe property, much preferred over the brown snakes :)

I feel as though I have just walked into a script from the Addams family. @annied @hermann You must all be mad. I am with Hazel and Sebastian @365projectorgsebgritt @quietpurplehaze
Although I live in Australia and don't mind snakes too much I wouldn't like one as a pet, or one living on my property either.
Nice shot though and hope she doesn't travel as far as New South Wales.

@onewing Sorry Babs, she was released in NSW:) But too far from Newcastle!

@hermann the red bellies eat the browns so they are great to have around

Great shot and well done for looking after her, but I'm with Babs. Snakes give me the heebies. :)
