I've often thought of using a shot of the local church and today seemed a good day to do it. I find it quite picturesque and always think it looks more as if it should be located somewhere like the Austrian Tyrol. From this angle, I managed to crop out the telephone line and the pedestrian traffic lights.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
This is a very nice composition especially like the angle. I have been looking through quite a few of your photos and find them very interesting - so much so that I am now following you. You have some nice ideas for pics - the food always makes me feel hungry so much so that I'm just off to get my lunch
@rosiekind The church sits raised up above the pavement and the churchyard on that side is bordered(almost contained) by a rather nice 4-5 ft tall flint wall. I had to tuck myself down at the far end of the wall in order to avoid getting the traffic lights etc in the shot. A couple of years ago I got a lovely shot of the church with its red door in the unseasonal snow we had then about this time of the year.
@tishpics Thank you Patricia. I should imagine the church was once upon a time in the depths of the country, or almost. We had hot cross buns too this morning - used to make them but now lazily buy them from M&S!
I love churches with the bell exposed like this. There's one in a one of the nearby villages and I keep meaning to get a good shot. This is great especially with the low angle.
@creativeamateur Thank you - and thank you, but hope I don't. My willpower is virtually nil when it comes to chocolate..... I know Neil will share his chocolates with me (!)
