I found these growing by the disused railway line near South Pond after I'd dropped Jinks off at the vet's this morning.
How kind of everyone to send such good wishes for him.
He was very dozy when I got him back home and it was hard to get him to lie down. He kept wandering about a bit disorientated as if he was going to fall asleep on his feet. Finally I lay down on the floor myself with him to keep him still. The floor was very hard even with blankets and cushions!!
Then I noticed his bandage had come adrift. I only glanced at it and he started his best growling so I phoned the vet's. They asked if I could sort it which I said I definitely could not. So back to the surgery we went.
Halfway up the road I remembered the glass of wine I'd treated myself to at lunch time but consoled myself that was about an hour and a half ago. And suddenly I saw the radar van just ahead. Neil seems convinced I was not in range when I was doing 34 mph - but that remains to be seen. It will be ironic if I get a fine as the speed limit on the hill here is 30mph and I'm always moaning about motorists who come down at 50!
Apparently Jinks' bandage should have been taken off before he came home. It took two vet nurses plus a muzzle to do it. To be fair I guess his leg is painful and he's not really with it.
Jinks is snoring quietly here beside me - what a lovely sound!!
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Lovely shot, but what a terrible day you have all had. Poor Jinks, no wonder he growled I think I would if I were him. Hope he is less groggy now and soon on the mend.
Babs, thanks - he's much better this morning but the night was not a lot of fun. Finally I left it to Neil who has different circadian rhythms from me (useful in such circumstances) to keep an eye on him and went to my own bed. Have been a little walk this morning. and looking forward to a siesta this afternoon.
good to hear the surgery went well and you got the bandage situation sorted, eventhough it was a lot of trouble! hope you don't get a speeding ticket. and this is a very lovely shot with those cute flowers!
Beautiful shot, Hazel. I hope by now Jinks is doing a lot better. Glad you took him back and hopefully all is well after only going 4mph over the speed. Live in the town I live in and they are very strict so we are all on the watch on the road here. FAV I hope your camera is doing ok. On the Facebook page for our Sony camera a couple of people mentioned that they had to use at least one brand of SD card though others have used other SD cards that work. Did your camera just stop working? I had another error pop up the other day and then went away as I was taking photos. Another Sony is coming out, an A7000 so soon after this one. You are taking great photos no matter what as it is the Photographer that counts.
Darlene, thank you. Jinks is a lot better now, the wound looks good and stitches will come out next Wed. Yes, the Sony just kept giving a card error message. I think 4 mph over the limit will get me a fine but hopefuIly I had slowed down by the time I was in range of the camera. I am very strict about keeping to 30 mph speed limits, so much so that there is usually a motorist up my boot and a string of them behind. I was just a bit stressed having to take Jinks back to the vet.
Hazel, so glad Jinks is doing a lot better. I am sure you are looking forward to those stitches coming out. How frustrating about your Sony camera. I hope mine does not have an error that stays on the screen. I also hope you get your camera back soon so you can use it. Wow, so they are hard on people just a little over the speed limit there. When we drive the speed limit here there are people behind the car too as they are all in a hurry. It is hard when you are going through something like you were with Jinks. Maybe if you get a ticket you can show that you were going to the vet. You were not going that fast. I know how it is here though, both my son and husband got tickets and they were doing nothing wrong just an police officer pulled them over for different reasons that were not true and hard to fight so paid the ticket, they both took the online class so it is not on their record and so our car insurance does not go up.
