Lotus plant budding

It's a shame it had not bloomed yet, but the budding plant was quite unusual for me to see.

I was looking at these in the Jardin des Plantes the other week. They are quite magnificent plants. Something extraterrestrial about them. Bottom right looks like a shower head! Lovely collage of images!
