Get-Pushed Challenge 278 - Thanksgiving

Liz Hammond asked me to take a photo that conveys the meaning/significance of Thanksgiving. We have been invited to have dinner with the family of a friend of my husband's for several years. This family, to me, especially the man in the foreground with the plaid shirt and cap, exude good will toward others, willingness to help his family and his neighbors and friendliness. We always feel embraced by this family. Although not easily seen in the background are two of this man's sons, several grandchildren and a son-in-law. Not eveyone present is in the photo. I found it hard to convey an emotion or feeling in a photo, so this was a difficult challenge for me.
How convivial to have such a gathering where you all know, appreciate one another and are thankful...together.

@lizhammond For your challenge. It was a difficult thing to photograph, lack of opportunity being one of the reasons. Hope your Thanksgiving, if you celebrate it, was good. Thank you for choosing this.

Time to talk to family and friends -- that's a good feeling.

They sound like a very giving family- and it must be quite large because it looks like you're gathering in a hall or large meeting place. I think you captured the meaning of thankfulness quite well.

@s4sayer It was a wonderful time. Thank you.
@craftymeg Yes, you are right. Especially when your only family is many miles away.
@pyrrhula Thank you.
@tunia Yes, you are right. Thank you.
@olivetreeann They moved their celebration to their church hall (I think most of them have been members of this church for many years) because it got so big. Thank you.
