This is a video (about 2 min. long). I placing it here for my bokeh photo. While I was taking some photos of the bokeh, I noticed in the live screen that the lights seemed to be fading and coming back in. The lights were not blinking to the visible eye. So I shot this video. Any idea what was going on? My DH speculated that the power to the lights was cycling 60 times per second, causing the lights to dim and come on fully. Obviously if this is happening, it's not really visible to my naked eye. The camera was on a tripod and I did not touch any of the settings during the making of this video.
Just a suggestion. Try increasing the speed (in settings "gear") to 2 to watch it double time.
It probably is down to the slight difference between the cycles of the lights and the sensor, with one of them being slightly faster. So the sensor is catching it at progressively different stages and eventually getting to the down cycle of different lights. It's a nice effect!
Interesting effect.Like the car wheels going backwards or forward or standing still depending on the speed they are turning.the frequency of your power supply 60 hertz (or cps) the frequency your camera is operating at ????
Thank you for you so nice comment. You`re very kind.
