Oh, wow! Gorgeous colors. This looks wildflowery, not weedy -- with the exception of the pokeweed. Now that I know what it is, I'd be chopping it out. But it does have wonderful color as it develops. So, maybe you're better at controlling it than I am.
@thewatersphotos I got my zinnias planted a bit late this year so they are really thriving right now. Thanks Gary. @mcsiegle Thanks Mary. The pokeweed pulls up pretty easily and I like the stages of life - the pretty flowers and deep purple sttems. The grass shouldn't be there so it is weeds. @kjarn Thank you Kathy. @30pics4jackiesdiamond Wildflowers where they shouldn't be = weeds. The grass just took over this little garden. Thank you Jackie. @wakelys Thanks Susan. Since we were advised to take the birdfeeders down (disease seen among songbirds this year carried on their feet) the garden has been active with some birds and insects of course. @pusspup Yes. The weeds got the best of me this summer. Plan B starts this fall (I hope). @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian. @craftymeg Thank you Margaret.
