that's still in existence? the last time i've seen this was at woolworth's when i first arrived in canada. but having been spoiled with belgian and swiss chocolates like godiva and suchard, i thought they tasted quite ordinary.
I love how you have composed this with the light and shadows. My question is what is inside of it? I am almost positive it is no longer chocolate, but I could be wrong.
@wakelys Thank you Sue. @summerfield Whitman samplers are very much alive and well in the states. The tins have been replaced by cardboard boxes like the mother boxes. I guess they sold them the past two Christmases. I didn't buy any and didn't look for them. I don't like chocolate so I wouldn't be swayed by the the brand names you mentioned. @pyrrhula Thank you Ferry. For myself, since I don't eat chocolate, the tin is the prize. @corinnec Thank you Corinne. @grammyn There wasn't much composition for the shadows. It was how the light was coming through the windows and through the plants, but thank you. Inside the tin? coins, safety pins, keys I think the tin may have been my mother's or my husband's. @olivetreeann Yes they were. And growing up I probably ate the chocolate too. Now I just want the tins. Small tins are hard to find these days. Mostly plastic. Not nearly so much fun. @jcoder Thank you Jessica. Sell by date is 4/1998. Not quite vintage yet but if I keep it a few more years it will be. @rensala Thank you Renee. The sun was out and it was filtered by plants coming in the windows of my sunroom. @shutterbug49 Thanks Debbie. We used to get a box in our stockings at Christmas. I carried on the tradition with my husband. @pusspup No chocolate. Only "treasures" (pins, coins, keys) @jamibann Thanks Issi. @kjarn They were sweet treats inside. @craftymeg Thanks Meg.
