Pattern Wrapped Hand #1

Get Pushed Challenge #560
52 Week Challenge - Week 14 - Learn something new
52 Week Challenge - Week 17 Hands
My get pushed partner said "For your challenge how about a displacement map but using a hand(s) to add an image." This was a first for me. I learned there is a lot to consider when doing one of these photos. First you have to get a good hand photo with lots of crevices and cracks. Then you have to find a good pattern. I thought a fishnet pattern might be interesting, but after several hours of work last night, I found it wasn't. Then I thought about the photo that was show in the You Tube video that was offered as a tip. I realized that perhaps the pattern had to be big, bold and colorful. So I started over this afternoon and created two I was pleased with.

For anyone who's interested, here's the link to the video that I followed: https://youtu.be/iHNO4Sgnw5E
@fbailey Here's one hand wrapped in pattern. Thanks for the challenge. I learn something new every time I use photoshop and this is a totally new technique to me. I had such a fun time doing it.

I really admire your willingness to experiment and learn from all these challenges. You always seem to meet them with an amazing image and this one is no exception FAV

Interesting concept- I feel the hands get lost in the color but I like the color anyway!

@joemuli Thank you.
@tunia Well I can follow directions. I hope I've learned it, but I suspect if I do it again I'll be referring back to my notes and the video. Thanks Tunia.
@grammyn Appreciate your feedback. Challenges do make daily photos more interesting but are often time consuming. You've taken on challenges and have good results, too, you've just taken on different challenges than me. Thank you Katy.
@olivetreeann I appreciate the feedback Ann. I have gone back and reworked the one I am posting today considering the points you've made.
@kjarn Thanks Kathy.
@Dawn Thanks Dawn.
@shutterbug49 Thank you Debbie. My hands are old and DRY so full of spots, wrinkles and crevices.
@jamibann Thanks Issi.
@wakelys I stared at this a lot of yesterday so saw the hand quite clearly. But looking at it again today, I understand what you're saying. Thank you for the feedback. I've tried to do a better job with the one I will post today.
@fbailey Thank you Felicity.
@dkbarnett Thank you Delwyn. I appreciate your comments.
@corinnec Thanks Corinne.
@pusspup Thank you Wylie.
@rensala Thanks Renee. And I agree it's usually well worth the efffort to learn something new. Supposed to keep one's brain active, isn't it.
@bkbinthecity Thanks Brian.
@craftymeg Thank you Meg.

Very clever. I have no patience for PS. As soon as I learn something, Adobe introduces an update and I'm a few steps back again.

@sunnygirl @haskar Thank you Mallory and Hannah. I've noticed that about PS. Aggravating!
