You might need to look closely. It's very camouflaged.
I know this as Wasp. It is certainly blending in nicely.

Yes, I think that is known as a wasp here and the most common one. I prefer the name yellow jacket though!

Yes, it is a wasp and a mean one at that. It is said if you kill one it sends out a scent that draws in more to the site. It seems to be true. This one must have been drunk with pollen because it didn't offer to fly away or at me as I closed in to get the photo.
