This lovely spike of dense violet flowers is actually a poisonous bulb that can cause mild skin irritation. I'm hoping that my cats (who love to eat flowers) leave this one alone. It's so pretty next to the daffodils. I didn't know they were toxic until I read it on Wikipedia.
Beautiful....especially, with the contrast of the daffodils behind it! I have been seeing some gorgeous shots of hyacinth macros lately....they really lend themselves to it! I did not know it could be toxic to humans, but I am pretty disheartened at how many plants are poisonous to cats....for a while I thought mine had been poisoned from eating the Amaryllis plant during the holidays!
