Cattle Point on southern tip of San Juan Island. The cattle-related connection is that around 1853, the Hudson Bay Company had established a ranch near the point. A ship was stranded off the coast and its load of cattle had to swim ashore. Today there are no cows, just a lighthouse, a nature preserve and miles of beautiful rugged coastline.
