While they're most at home in water, Hippos also like to bask on the shoreline. They are silly-looking creatures with tiny ears and big torsos. As a kid I remember watching cartoons with dancing hippos that always had a bird perching on top of them so it made me laugh when I saw all these birds hanging out with the big boys.
Beautiful shot, they are very interesting creatures, I always wonder why should a herbivore that grazes grass has such viscous teeth? Scientists believe they are related to whales millions of years ago.
