Manatee Rescue (1 of 3)

Was down in St Augustine yesterday and found this manatee stranded in a tidal pool. You can see the back, where it is drying out. My wife and I did contact the park service, and they were going to get in touch with the Wildlife Commission. It doesn't seem too stressed at this time. See next post, 2 of 3.
I've scrolled backwards through these 3 but love your captures and the rescue of an interesting animal :) I had to google manatee to find out what type of animal it is! A first for me. Fav for the great capture with the egret and the whole rescue story :)

Great series of shots to show the story. Wonder what brings them to come in so close and get stranded? Nice to know of your part in its rescue.

Suppose the egret is standing guard?

@gilbertwood @nilsandcindy @milaniet @milaniet @windhorse Thanks all for your comments. Milanie, not sure what it was, but there were a lot of birds coming down in there while the manatee was stranded.
