This is in a N.P. in the hinterland. The water has eroded through the creek bed and now escapes to a cave underneath. There are glow worms in the cave but they don't make themselves known in the day time. It was a good chance to play some more with the longer exposure.
@dkbarnett Hi Dewlyn - thanks for your feedback ! It's so hit and miss with my camera - I have to trick it into doing what I want. I had some longer exposures but to get them I had to have either a more + exposure bias ( ended up really glarey) or vivid colors or a tunsten light source ( both of which were very blue!) The main trouble was that there was a lot of light coming in where the lake exiting to the outside - it made big bright blobs!! This was the best of a bad bunch!! I think the gorgeous long exposures you get in daylight might always be beyond my camera. I'll keep experimenting though - finding out stuff all the time! Thanks for your advice though - very much appreciated!! Cheers Rob.
We just had a photographer come and speak on long exposure at our photo club. If you email me at Olivetreeann@mail.com I can send you her pdf file. I think your camera can do these shots- her notes might help with that. The Powershot that I have does have a manual setting but I've never played with it. I'm usually in AV. Anyway, if you want the notes let me know. Good shot!
@taffy Hi Taffy - it's a great spot - we were actually surprised it had so much water flowing - it's been dreadfully dry here. I think it would make a great shot on a full moon night - if you could just get the time right for the moon light coming down through the gap. However hopeful!! Cheers.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Hi Jackie - I think I agree with you - seeing the droplets is good. We didn't see any glow worms - it was too bright for them. We ahve seen them in the past - they are interesting - but really small. Cheers
