Bay of Fires, East Coast, Tasmania

This is a typical headland scene along the Bay of Fires on the East Coast of Tasmania
Lovely rock shapes and adore that colour!

Great photo. I love the colour - especially where the rest of the colours are quite muted.

I guess that's a good name for this area because those boulders look like they are the product of molten lava. Good catch!

@dkbarnett Hi Delwyn- the colours are indeed magic - this is another place where I can just imagine the photos you could produce!!

@olivetreeann Hi Ann - we were like you - we thought the name was due to the colours. Apparently though it was named by an explorer who saw the aborigine's fires from his ship. Very fitting result! :)

Wow..what color...I thought at first it was a deflated life raft! great positioning of horizon line in this.

@granagringa Thanks Madeline- this area is also renowned for its beautiful, turquoise water - but we only saw it in wind and rain! Made the orange stand out but lost out on the water colour. Thanks for your feedback on the position of the horizon. :)
