The IR camera's alter ego...

Many thanks to all of you who wrote such lovely comments about yestereday's IR image of our old tree. The tones that you mentioned and the effect that they produce can be wonderfully changed by a simple invert. It gives blues instead of browns and blacks instead of whites and vice versa. A totally different look for our poor old dead tree. Thanks again for your interest and feedback! Cheers Rob
I really like this, will have to give this ago!

@ludwigsdiana Hi Diana - that camera is really one of the best things I've ever bought. So much fun :)

@casablanca It's funny - the invert makes such a difference - and it's often so different that it's like a totally different image - different feel, different contrasts, different combinations - and sometimes they are just awful!! :)

@fbailey Hi FB - it's always so unpredictable - makes it like having two different cameras! :)

So many wonderful comments - thanks so much. This one worked out quite nicely - but it's so fascinating in that they can often look truly awful!! It's all part of fun of this crazy camera. Cheers Rob

IR produces such unique colors. And you never know what will be showing up until afterwards. Cool shot.

Awesome capture.

Your IR photos are so interesting Rob. Such a different way to view the commonplace. I assume you had your D70 converted. I have never tried IR photography but I have an old Canon T3i that I have considered getting converted. If I ever follow through on that thought I might be getting in touch with you for some tips.
