Country Race Day

Stanthorpe style - only one a year, 5 races, a racecourse with a hill and a valley in the running track, bookies but no TOTE or TAB, country atmosphere, picnics, drinks, assorted people and fashion styles and then music at the end. All in all - a great day out!

There was a once-a-year race meeting like this near where I use to live in a past life. Wonderful day out!! Far more fun than Flemington.

@dhg Hi - thanks for your comment. The country race days are great fun - all very relaxed and friendly. Yhe big city meets are totally different but also good fun! And the bookies are always willing to yae your money - even if you only bet a couple of dollars - that's me!

@granagringa Hi Granagringa - thanks for your suggestion. I had another look at it and I thik you are quite correct. I remember when I did it originally I left it like this because I'd used the spot metering to get the stalls dark and white-out the surrounds - so I didn't want to crop away that effect. But it would have still had that effect at sides and top - oh well! Next time! Thanks again. Cheers Rob
