On the road

Many of the little towns we pass through have lovely old queenslanders like this. My get-pushed partner for this week gave me the challenge of producing a portrait. This is the closest I'll get to a portrait of Errol - hopefully little Vinny will be more co-operative!
@jacqbb Hi Jacqueline - I know this a big cheat - but I will try for a proper portrait of our little grandson Vinny. Cheers Rob

ha ha... I like the fact that the old queenslander is the focus... looks great in black and white...

love this one Rob. Did you have to ask Errol to stop the car in just the right spot :)

I'd love to visit there some day! Nice portrait and I like how you converted your black and white. A strong conversion.

This is a good shot Rob and a creative way of achieving a portrait.

@cruiser Hi Chris - I'm glad you liked it - it was just a really lucky shot! We were driving quite slowly through town and i had my camera out looking for a queenslander - just pure luck! Thanks for your nice comment. Cheers Rob

@jenp Hi Jennifer - thanks for your nice comment. It was a bit of a cheat for the portrait and just lucky for the queenslander! Cheers Rob :)

@jacqbb Lol - thanks Jacqueline - I'm still trying for a real one!! This portrait thing is actually very tricky!! :)

Hi Marnie and Ulrika - this was one of those "oh - I think that might be good" shots from the car. And Errol didn't even know.... (He's not a keen subject!) It is my dream to own one of those renovated queenslanders (with air con!) on about 2 acres of well kept (by a nice gardener-man!) native garden, with a pool (maintained by a nice pool-man) on the Granite Belt!! Cheers Rob :)

Hi Frida and Lesley - Thanks for your nice comments on the quasi portrait. Errol is not a happy subject - positively rebellious actually - so this was a good luck shot that he didn't even realize had happened! And this portrait taking thing is actually proving very tricky - not having much luck trying for a real one! Thanks again. Cheers Rob
