Springtime flowers #6

A tiny "Pinky" orchid - growing amongst the Waxlip orchids. About 3 inches high and 1/2 inch across.
Lovely low key shot

Beautiful capture of this little orchid. I like the capture on the dark background. Our next orchid club meeting is supposed to talk about growing orchids outdoors in our climate. Looking forward to it. I’ve run out of windows in the house.

Such a lovely capture

@koalagardens And they disappear so quickly- especially when it's hot and dry like this. The Waxlips only lasted about a week... :)
September 19th, 2024
@pusspup They aren't lasting long in this hot, dry weather. The Waxlips are gone now and it's just a few Pinkies left. Haven't had any Donkey orchids at all - bit of a worry... :)

How pretty is this one?!

@shutterbug49 Hi Debbie - I'm not sure but I think our climate is probably about the same as yours. As well as the little native terrestrial orchids we've got a lot that we've planted ourselves. Most are just tied with some spagnum moss onto a tree with rough bark - and then they pretty well look after themselves. Dendrobiums seem to do really well! Even King Orchids will grow like that... Cheers Rob
