You can see the wind blowing the palms outside! But yes, great place to sit out a cyclone with a drink in your hand. I love your selective colouring for the beer!
I love shots like this, they give you enough to get a feeling for the scene but deny enough details to create a mystery. What are the two in the left hand foreground up to! The back illuminated touch of gold is brilliant.
@jacqbb Lol - we'd all pretty well decided that it was another case of the weather bureau being totally wrong again! The cyclone eventually headed North and brought no rain and no flooding. It did erode a lot of sand from the beaches - not good on a tourist area renowned for its beaches! :)
@gardencat Hi Joanne - thanks so much for your thoughtful. very kind comment! I was really pleased with this shot - and even in the b&w (not a favourite of mine) it still seemed to work well. I'm really pleased about your comment on the beers - it was actually cheating for the flashofred theme - but too good to pass up! Many thanks Rob :)
@caterina Thanks Caterina - it's a great place for beach and people watching - and the beer and food are both good!! Lol - what more could you want! :)
@casablanca Hi Casablanca - the cyclone was a fizzer!! Eroded huge quantities of sand from the beaches with its gale force winds - but brought no rain at all. It was predicted to bring rain to Stanthorpe as well as the coastline - and it's badly needed out there. There have been awful fires ripping through the National Parks. N.B. the beer colour was too good to leave out for the flashofred theme! Cheers Rob
@rosie00 Thanks Lesley! That beer colour was just too good to turn into b&w! P.S. - I just selected the beers with the edge finder tool to remove them from the b&w conversion. Cheers Rob
@4rky Thanks so much 4rky - the spot metering setting on my camera is really so handy - I find I use it lots! And, of course, the beer had to stay yellow!! Thanks for having a look!
