Searching for food

This little blackbird was busily pecking round my vegetable patch which is fallow at the moment. I must go and buy some raisins for him as the ground is frozen and I know he likes them. There's plenty of other food for him but they are his favourites and I've run out! I took this one from my kitchen window using my new lens. Fortunately although the window is filthy, it doesn't seem to have affected my pic

He's great, but his breast is a bit tatty. I'm surprised as he should be looking pristine with the breeding season starting soon.
Now we await the first blackbird singing in the morning, a real spring sound!

Lovely shot. He looks very intelligent. The blackbirds in my yard descend on my suet and demolish it in 5 minutes. I'm not so happy to see them.
