Dunnock by rosiekind

Dunnock

I couldn't tell what type of bird I was photographing when I took this but then realised when I uploaded it, it was a dunnock having rather a cold time in the snow this morning. I have been out and bought loads of dried fruit, more mealworms, suet pellets and some corn for Phil Pheasant because we haven't seen him today and I think the food I have in the feeders is probably not very suitable. We must look after our dear little birds and most importantly put out water for them too.
You are such a good person,Rosie. I think this is a fabulous shot of your bird! Terrific detail.

Yes poor things! I think ours get some hen leftovers but I'll put some fat balls out as well - I have to be careful because of all the cats!

@grammyn @judithg @carolmw Thank you for your kind comments. I do love birds - they are such harmless little creatures and they need us to help them through this difficult period

It's great to be able to get close to these birds & feeding helps especially in this wintery weather - It's a dunnock, surely!

Yes I realised after I had posted this that it's not a thrush at all. Well spotted. I think I was so keen to post something before I went out, I did it in a bit of a hurry. Never mind, my thoughts about the birds are just the same

Great capture - and wonderful that you look out for these birds, if it wasn't for the likes of people like you l am sure a lot of them would perish.
