I went for a walk over the lakes this morning and I really intended going early but by the time Steve got back from the garage with a car for MOT, it was way past 10 o'clock. I think it was a daft idea as it was just so hot and I expected there to be more shade around the north side of the lake along by the river but even there, it was bathed in sunshine. I stopped by the lake and put a plastic sheet down on the grass in the shade where I could hear but not see the reed warblers and buntings. It was lovely and I could quite see why fishermen enjoy it so much. There were lots of different geese on the water as well as the swan family. I think this is Mrs Swan who was swimming around with 4 cygnets. It's a shame but she had 6 when I was there last week so she has obviously lost a couple. She took them over the lake to join up with Dad but I liked this shot with her feathers up. I picked up a couple of swan feathers and another lady over there also collected several as well.
Thank you for all your kind comments and Favs and for getting my pics on PP - it is lovely to see them there.
