Feeding the young by rosiekind

Feeding the young

I heard the whitethroat before I saw him and there were two of them who are obviously feeding youngsters and I think they must like damselflies as I have seen them feeding youngsters with these in previous years. There were plenty of damselflies about so I think the youngsters would certainly be well fed. I saw them as I walked down to the lock and I haven't been down that way for ages so I was pleased that I did. I heard kingfishers in two places along the river but I didn't see them. It certainly meant that I did my 10,000 steps and managed to do 30 brisk minutes which was good as I had been to my Healthier You class which is a National Diabetes Prevention Program as I had a pre diabetic fasting blood sugar and was referred by my GP. Prevention is better than cure! I have only managed to lose a pound in weight which is disappointing as I have been sticking to 800 calories 5 days out of 7 and eating about 1,000 calories on the other days.

Thanks for getting my blue tit and kingfisher on PP yesterday and for all your kind comments and Favs. It is always much appreciated.
Another wonderful capture Rosie. Hope you get your health issues sorted out soon :-) Fav!

What a great picture of the whitethroat. Well done for all the stepping too - I couldn't survive on that calorie intake, I would be SO grumpy.
