I met Oscar as I went for a quick walk along Wood Lane. He belongs to our next door neighbour and he's such a lovely boy. As soon as he saw me, he ran over to say hello.
The Council came yesterday to try to sort out the flood in our garden and the road across the way but they seem to have made things worse rather than better. Steve told them that removing the manhole cover would make things worse but of course, they knew best. As soon as it was raised the water gushed out at them. They finally put it back but it now leaks and they have put some sandbags on top but it's still leaking. They said that they would come back either today or tomorrow so it looks as though it will be tomorrow now. I have to say that they were there until about 10pm last night so I bet they were glad to get home.
