Really like this image. Did you consider darkening the lower third so the heal was surrounded by black?

Nice one! You might want to notify @katiebrenkert here because sometimes it doesn't work if you put it in the photo description. Well would you look at that? I have done it for you :o)

@steampowered Paul, you are too quick for me! This multi-tasking on the computer can cause some mishaps! Thanks for the reminder though :-)

@katiebrenkert another attempt!

@carrotkoff Andrew I was playing around with darkening it but I was failing miserably! Not sure what I'm doing wrong or not doing!

lovely composition and lighting

@salza Sally, something that you could try to further darken (and blacken) it, is to keep the shell in colour, but change all the rest to B&W...

Great shot, especially when viewed large, on black. For what it's worth, I like the effect of the lower bit not being entirely black. This way it gives the sense of the shell resting on what could even be a rock or beach ;)

That´s great!

Great. I'm with @kwiksilver, in a certain way: to me, the lower dark brown colour adds to a sense of surrealism: a 3D object on a beautiful, velvety flat, 2D background. If anything, I'd blur the straight line just below the shell to avoid the sense of its resting anyplace at all. :)

perfect!
